School is starting back up again, instead of the usual photos I take on the doorstop (which to be honest, I will probably still do!!) I decided to switch them up and make a fun setup for each of my three kiddos. My youngest is starting KINDERGARTEN, and I thought what a fun way to make going back to school fun and exciting. Each of my kids have different books on their desks, making it personalized to the grade and I asked them what would they like to do?
Getting your children involved in the session is a priority for me, if they don’t feel comfortable then it will show through in the session. Instead asking them, what do you want to try, can you hold this for me, what do you think of sitting on the desk? Gets them active and engaged. Each of my kids had an active part in creating this session, and all of the laughs and giggles that we had are true and happen sporadically.
I want to capture timeless moments that when I look back I will see that my youngest was not touching the ground when we took this photo in the Fall and how much will change if I decide to do it again another year? Personalities will be different, the books will change, they might have lost teeth or have longer hair. Everything about your kiddo changes in small increments and when you look back and see the photos from years past you think, how have they changed so much in one year?!?!?!
